How to Export a Gantt Chart to PDF in ScheduleReader Online

ScheduleReader Online

The online viewer exports the Gantt chart it is currently showing, so the view you set up is the report you get.

Before You Export

  • Set the timescale to the range the report covers - weekly is usually readable, monthly fits a one-page summary.
  • Filter to the activities that belong in the report. A full activity list on a client status report is rarely useful; a filter on critical activities or a WBS branch usually is.
  • Group by WBS or phase if the audience reads progress by work package rather than by activity line.

Export

Choose Export above the Gantt and pick the format:

  • PDF - multi-page, with the timescale repeated on every page. Use this for status reports, issue sheets and plotter prints.
  • PNG - a single image for slides and emails.
  • SVG - a vector image that stays sharp when it is scaled or printed large.

Saved Views

Filters, baselines and WBS colour schemes are stored per schedule version, so the next export is one click rather than a rebuild. The original .xer file is not changed by exporting.
